SHOW NOTES
Today I want to talk about niches and why trying to be a Jack of All trades will get you nowhere fast.
When I first decided to start a business back in 2013 I was full of expectations. I launched Huxo Digital Media and planned to turn it into a full time business, running social media campaigns. But, I went about it the wrong way.
What started as a social media marketing company had turned into a kind of one stop shop for all things digital.
The business was moving in the wrong direction, and I knew I needed to make a change.
I realised that if I was really going to take it up a notch I’d need to focus on a niche.
Niching down (or nitching if you’re American or Australian) isn’t going to make you miss out. If you want to be seen as a specialist, rather than a generalist, it’s what you need to do.
